NASCAR at Martinsville: Odds, prediction, sleepers, drivers to watch for STP 500

Kyle Busch is on a great run right now and any chances post has to begin with him.

And coming into a week with two consecutive wins and a race at a track at which he has three career victories, Busch is the man to beat once again. He’s the favorite heading to the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway, the shortest track in NASCAR.

This week includes a few interesting storylines as Joey Logano and Martin Truex Jr. butted heads, and cars, at last season’s playoff race at Martinsville while Logano came away with the win.

Logano has seven top-10 finishes in his last 10 races at Martinsville including that win last season while Truex is no slouch himself together with six top-seven finishes in his past seven attempts in the half-mile track. These men will fight it out for the win, but they will probably be fighting Busch for the victory.

Now it would be absurd to pick anyone but Busch to win and that’s what we’re doing. He has the best car and can be outdriving everyone in NASCAR in the moment. He has a fantastic opportunity this week to pass Richard Petty along with his 201st career win in NASCAR’s top three series.

The STP 500 could be seen Sunday at two p.m. ET on FS1.
